Colour Palette of the Royal Temple
Decoding the Beauty of Colors from Royal Temples: Inspiring Thai Artistic Heritage
This exhibition originates from a research project on extracting color shades from royal temples, a collaboration between TACDA and NRCT. The project focuses on studying the aesthetic beauty of significant temples in the Rattanakosin era, namely Wat Pho (Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm), Wat Boromniwat Ratchaworawihan, and Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram Ratchaworawihan. The research explores the development of “colors and shades” found in the artistic works of these three temples, referencing color theory and aesthetics to understand the concepts and creative vision of Thai master artisans of the past who produced these invaluable works of art.
